Investiture Ceremony  
The Investiture Ceremony – Lakshyam 12 of Mridulasparsham Special School was held on 10th October 2025 (Friday) at 11:00 a.m. on the school premises. The event marked an important occasion where the newly elected student leaders were formally vested with their responsibilities. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Capt. P. Rajkumar, Indian Navy (Retd.), recipient of the Shaurya Chakra and Nau Sena Medal. The programme began with a prayer by the students, followed by a welcome address by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of the institution. The flag hoisting was carried out by the Chief Guest, after which the March Past was presented by the students of Pudina House, Thulasi House, and Panikkoorkka House. The highlight of the event was the Oath-Taking Ceremony led by the newly appointed Head Boy, Head Girl, and House Leaders, symbolizing their commitment to uphold the values and responsibilities entrusted to them. Capt. P. Rajkumar delivered an inspirational address, encouraging students to lead with dedication, discipline, and integrity. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress. The event was a grand success, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership and responsibility among its students.
 


Early Intervention Camp 
The programme commenced at 9:15 am with registration, followed by the formal start of the meeting at 9:30 am. The event began with a prayer led by Sidharth S and Krishnapriya Teacher. The Presidential Address was delivered by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, after which the ceremonial lighting of the lamp was conducted by the distinguished guests. The Inaugural Address was given by Sri. G. N Ramesh, District Governor of Rotary District 3205, graced the occasion . Dr. Jeeson C Unni, Senior Consultant in Paediatrics and Neonatology at Aster Medcity, Kochi, provided insights about the camp. Paediatric Section Coordinator and Manoj Kumar P, President,Rotary Cochin International offered felicitations, appreciating the efforts and purpose of the programme. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Smt. Sreedevi Ayyappan, Incharge of the Junior Section. The programme was well-organized, highlighting the active participation of dignitaries, parents, and teachers in making the event a success. 
 


Installation of Interact Club and Inauguration of Manchadi Block & Thanneerpanthal Mridulasparsham Special School organized its annual programme “Lakshyam – 10” on 16th September 2025 at the school premises. The programme featured the Inauguration of “Manchadi Block” by Rtn. K Anil Varma, District Chair of Interact Club 3205 and Managing Director of Varma Homes, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event also witnessed the Installation of the Interact Club, conducted by Rtn. Manoj Kumar P, President of Rotary Club of Cochin International. Thanneerpanthal is also inaugurated in the same occasion. The programme was presided over by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan (Chairman), along with Smt. Nitya Gopalakrishnan (Director) and Smt. Rakhi A. R. (Headmistress). Staff, students, and well-wishers actively participated, making the event a grand success. 
 


Guruvandanam
Mridulasparsham Special School, Irumapanam, organized Lakshyam – 9 Guruvandanam on 12th September 2025 at the school premises. The programme commenced at 11:00 AM with a prayer by the students, followed by a welcome address by Mast. Vasudev K. S., Head Boy. The presidential address was delivered by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of the institution. The chief guest of the event, Smt. Priya C. Pillai, Principal, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and delivered the inaugural address. As part of the event, special honours were given to Mast. Aran Dreams Joseph, NASA Visit Returnee, and to the teachers of the school. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Kum. Hessa Mariam, Head Girl. The event highlighted the spirit of respect and gratitude towards teachers and mentors, making it a memorable occasion for the school community. 


Onam Celebration 
Mridulasparsham Special School, Irumpanam, celebrated Lakshyam – 8: Onam Celebration on 29th August 2025 at the school premises. The programme commenced at 11:00 am in the presence of Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan (Chairman), Smt. Nitya Gopalakrishnan (Director), and Smt. Rakhi A. R (Headmistress). The day began with a colourful Pookkalam Making from 9:30 to 10:30 am, where students and teachers showcased their creativity through floral designs. This was followed by the Onam Varavelppu, a traditional welcome ceremony. A variety of cultural activities highlighting Kerala’s traditions were also conducted, with enthusiastic participation from students. The celebrations concluded with a grand Onam Sadya, prepared and served with the support of staff and parents, creating an atmosphere of joy, togetherness, and cultural pride. The event beautifully reflected the spirit of Onam, spreading happiness and unity among the entire school community. 


 Mridulasandhya 
 The programme began at 5:00 pm with the gracious presence of Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan (Chairman), Smt. Nitya Gopalakrishnan (Director), and Smt. Rakhi A. R (Headmistress). The event featured various cultural and artistic presentations by the students. The drama “ചെരുപ്പിനും ഉണ്ടൊരു കഥ” and മൃദുലഗീതം – the Mangala Geetham of Mridulasparsham – were among the highlights of the evening. A special focus was given to creating awareness about the importance of medicinal plants in human life. The school has taken a unique initiative by naming each class from the primary to vocational level after medicinal plants such as Vayamb, Brahmi, Nelli, Aryaveppu, Arayal, and Keram, thereby instilling in children a deep respect for nature and traditional wisdom. The programme successfully blended cultural expression with social awareness, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic education and personality development of its students.


Cultural programme at
Riverbank Residency, Aluva 

 Mridulasparsham Special School, Seaport–Airport Road, Irumpanam (Reg. No: SJD/5026/2023-RPWD2, Directorate of Social Justice, Govt. of Kerala), in association with the Reserve Bank Retired Employees’ Association, Kochi, organized a cultural programme on 09th August 2025, Saturday at 2:00 PM at Riverbank Residency, Aluva. The event was graced by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan (Chairman), Smt. Nitya Gopalakrishnan (Director), and Smt. Rakhi A. R (Headmistress). The programme included a variety of cultural presentations such as: 
• Purappad – Chendamelam 
• Curtain Raiser – Mridulageetham 
• Sangeetha Nrithavishkaram – Parayipetta Panthirukulam 
The event showcased the talents of children and highlighted the importance of inclusive education and cultural expression. It provided a platform for students to display their abilities and received active support from the community and well-wishers. 


Awareness Programme: Behavioural Challenges of Special Need Children

An Awareness Programme on Behavioural Challenges of Special Need Children was successfully conducted on 26th July 2025 (Saturday) at Mridulasparsham Special School. The event was organized for teachers and parents to equip them with knowledge and strategies to support children with special needs more effectively. The programme began at 9:00 AM with an inaugural ceremony led by Rtn. Manoj Kumar P, President of the Rotary Club of Cochin International. His words emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the needs of differently-abled children. The technical sessions included three expert-led presentations: • Session 1 was delivered by Dr. Maria Grace Tresa, Senior Speech Pathologist from Aster Kind, who spoke about speech and communication challenges faced by special need children. • Session 2 featured Dr. Mareen Punnen, an Applied Behavioral Analyst and Counseling Psychologist, who provided insights into behavioral management and emotional support. The programme concluded at 1:30 PM, leaving attendees with practical knowledge and a renewed sense of commitment to inclusive education and care.     


Convocation Ceremony

Mridulasparsham Special School successfully held its Convocation Ceremony for the Diploma in Hotel Front Office Management (Under BSS) on Friday, 4th July 2025, at the school premises. The event began at 4:30 PM with the arrival of guests, Smt. Meena Viswanathan, Chief Coordinator of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, and a trustee of Mridulasparsham, delivered the welcome address. This was followed by the presidential address by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, and an overview of the course by Smt. Rakhi A. R, Headmistress. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp and inaugural address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Honorable Justice Devan Ramachandran, Judge, High Court of Kerala. The event continued with the distribution of certificates, recognizing the achievements of the graduating students. Felicitation speeches were delivered by Sri. Balan Machath (Coordinator, BSS Trichur & Palakkad District) and Sri. Shivakumar, a parent. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Nitya Gopalakrishnan, Director. The programme was a grand success, celebrating academic achievement and skill development while inspiring students to pursue excellence in their professional lives.    


International Day of Yoga 

Mridulasparsham Special School celebrated the International Day of Yoga as part of its annual programme “Lakshyam – 3” on 23rd June 2025. The theme for this year was “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”. The event was graced by Dr. Aswathy Xavier, BAMS, M.Sc in Applied Psychology, and Managing Director of Dr. Aswathy’s Mind and Body Clinic, who was the Chief Guest. She shared valuable insights on the importance of yoga in improving physical and mental well-being, especially for children with special needs. Students and teachers actively participated in the yoga session under the supervision of our Yoga Master Sri. Santhosh T R. Various yoga postures and breathing exercises were demonstrated under supervision, emphasizing relaxation and body awareness. The programme highlighted the role of yoga in promoting holistic health and was a meaningful step toward encouraging a balanced lifestyle among the students.   


World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the programme "Lakshyam - 2" was conducted on 5th June 2025 (Thursday) at 11:30 AM in the School Premises. The event began with a prayer by students, followed by a welcome address from Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman. Smt. Sudharma K R, Teacher, introduced the Chief Guest. The lamp lighting and inaugural address were done by Smt. S. Sathi Devi, Poet and Retired Teacher, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra. Sri. Arun Ajikumar, Poster Designer and Movie Actor, was introduced by Smt. Manju Mariam T C, Teacher. He spoke about the Photography Workshop conducted as part of the programme. Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan introduced Sri. Satish SrinivasaMurthy, General Manager, Le Meridien Kochi, who led the distribution of saplings. The guests were honored, followed by felicitations from Smt. Laly George, Vice Principal. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress, and planting of saplings by all participants, marking a strong commitment to environmental awareness.   


Pravesanolsavam- 2025

A special function 'Lakshyam 1' was held on 2nd June 2025 (Monday) at 11:00 AM in the school premises to mark the inauguration of Pravesanolsavam & നമ്മുടെ അങ്ങാടി. The event began with a prayer by the students, followed by a welcome speech by Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress. The Presidential Address was delivered by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman. Sri. C. A. Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, lit the lamp and gave the Inaugural Address for Pravesanolsavam. The official inauguration of “നമ്മുടെ അങ്ങാടി” was conducted by Sri. K. M. George, Chairman of PAID. Sri. Roy Thiruvankulam, Councilor of Tripunithura Municipality, offered felicitations. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Sreedevi Ayyappan, Junior Section Incharge. The event was a success, with active participation and warm appreciation from the attendees.  


Annual Day 2024-25

The School Annual Day was celebrated on April,2025 with enthusiasm and joy. The event began with a Prayer by the students, followed by a warm Welcome Speech from Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman. Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress, presented the Annual Report (2024–2025), highlighting the school’s achievements. The Presidential Address was delivered by Smt. Rema Santhosh, Chairperson of Tripunithura Municipality. The Lamp Lighting and Inaugural Address were led by Sri. Anoop Jacob, MLA of Piravom Constituency. Awards were then distributed to the Best Students and Best House. Felicitations were offered by Sri. Roy Thiruvankulam, Councilor of Karingachira, and Smt. Neeza Joseph, Guardian/Parent. The event concluded with colorful Entertainment Programmes and a Vote of Thanks by Smt. Sreedevi Ayyappan, Vocational Instructor. 

World Theatre Day
 
On 27th March,the event commenced with the arrival of the guests, greeted by a lively Chendamelam. The program began with a prayer by the students, after which Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, the Chairman, extended a warm welcome. The Lighting of the Lamp ceremony was conducted by PDG Rtn. B.R. Ajith, Managing Trustee of ASADI. Mrs. Rakhi A R, Headmistress, introduced the Chief Guest, PDG Rtn. B.R. Ajith, who then delivered the inaugural address. Following the address, Mrs. Shirley Somasundaran, Teacher in Performing Arts, provided an insight into the upcoming drama, “ചെരുപ്പിനും ഉണ്ടൊരു കഥ”. The event also saw a felicitation of Sri Raj Mohan Varma,Art & Cultural Events Cordinator and the honoring of the Chief Guest. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Arun Savi, President of the Interact Club. The event was a resounding success, bringing together inspiring speeches, cultural performances, and an engaging drama. 
 

12th Annual Sports Day
 
On 7th March 2025, the students and staff of the school gathered for this special event held at the school premises. The event commenced at 10:20 AM with a vibrant Guest Reception accompanied by Chendamelam performed by the students. The formal proceedings began at 10:30 AM with a March-past, showcasing the school houses, followed by a prayer led by the students. Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech. The flag hoisting ceremony took place at 10:50 AM, conducted by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, the Chairman of the school. Dr. P.V. Louis, the Chief Guest and Managing Director of Medical Trust Hospital, Ernakulam, addressed the gathering, followed by the Lighting of the Olympic Torch. The students then took the Oath, led by Master Vasudev S Krishna, the Sports Captain. The Chief Guest was honored and the students showcased a lively Zumba performance followed by a Yoga display. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Master Vasudev K S, the Head Boy and the National Anthem was sung by the students. The event was a great success, filled with enthusiasm and participation from all. 

RCI Bhavana
 
Children at RCI Bhavana recently participated in a series of exciting competitions that showcased their talents in various creative fields. The events included painting, pencil drawing, ramp walk, group dance, and group music, each providing an opportunity for young participants to display their skills and creativity. The group music performance stood out as one of the highlights of the day, where the children’s harmony and coordination earned them the well-deserved *Second Prize*. Their performance was a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and musical talent. In addition to the competitions, RCI Bhavana took a moment to honor two distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to the organization. 
Nitya Gopalakrishnan (Director) and Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan (Chairman) were recognized for their exceptional services and commitment to fostering growth and excellence at RCI Bhavana. The event was a grand success, providing the children with a platform to showcase their talents while also celebrating the dedication of the organization’s leadership. It was a memorable day for all involved, filled with creativity, achievement, and gratitude.

Mridula Swad and Thanneer Pandhal
 
At  Mridulasparsham Special School, the student-driven initiative Mridula Swad and Thanneer Pandhal was launched. The program focuses on providing nutritious snacks, prepared by the students themselves, to address their nutritional deficiencies and raise awareness about the importance of balanced diets. The owners of Scientific Enterprises, Mr. P. N. Narayan and Mrs. Lakshmi Narayan, are ensuring the necessary support and collaboration for this project. Additionally, the Thanneer Pandhal initiative, which has been distributing refreshments to the public for the past two years, was reintroduced on this occasion.

The second edition of the 3K Mini Run titled "We too are running towards 2025," organized by Irumbanam Mridulasparsham Special School, was held on January 4, 2025, Saturday. The theme of the event was "The role of special schools in helping differently-abled students overcome challenges" with the objective of raising awareness in the community. The event was led by Mridulasparsham Special School Chairman Captain S. Gopalakrishnan and Director Mrs. Nithya Gopalakrishnan. During the flag-raising ceremony, the Irumbanam Ward Councillor Mr. Roy Thiruvankulam hoisted the school flag. The chief guest, Dr. K. N. Raghavan, IRS, flagged off the Mini Run. The run started from Mridulasparsham Special School at 6:15 AM, passing through Karingachira Junction, Hill Palace, AR Camp, Chitrapuzha, and concluding at Irumbanam Junction, before ending back at Mridulasparsham Special School. At AR Camp, the police team, with a drum beat, inspired the students along the way.
Around 90 students participated, including Special School students (Adarsh, Jaeny), and Mainstream students from various schools such as V.H.S.S Irumbanam, Bhavans Adarsh Vidyalaya Kakkanad, Bhavans Vidyamandir Elamakkara, Bhavans Vidyamandir Girinagar, Bhavans Vidyamandir Eroor, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Thrippunithura, Vennikkulam St. George High School, and Stella Maris Public School. Approximately 100 parents and teachers also joined the event. The Headmistress, Rakhi AR, expressed gratitude and thanked everyone for their support.

Christmas Hungama - A Festive Celebration!

 Christmas Hungama at Mridulasparsham Special School on 20th December 2024 was a heartwarming and joyous event that brought the entire school community together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. The event, held at 10 AM in the school premises, featured a variety of exciting performances and activities, including:
X-Mas Gift Exchange – A delightful exchange of gifts, spreading joy and festive cheer among everyone. 
 Group Song – Our students filled the air with beautiful Christmas carols, creating a magical atmosphere.
 Group Dance – The students showcased their energy and festive spirit through a lively dance performance. 
  Carol Song – Traditional Christmas carols were sung, adding to the warmth of the celebration.
 Performance by Vayampu Block – A special and captivating performance by the Vayampu Block, adding a unique touch to the event. 
 Skit – A meaningful skit that brought the true story of Christmas to life, touching hearts with its message. The day was filled with laughter, music, and togetherness, making it a memorable celebration for all. It was a beautiful reminder of the joy and love that Christmas brings to our lives.

Special Arts Fest-2024 (SAF 2024)

On 17.12.2024 Tuesday,our students participated in SAF Competition organised by Y's Men Club held at Chavara Special School, Koonamavu. Competion participated : 1.Crayons colouring (6nos) 2. Pencil drawing(4nos) 3. Group Song(4nos) 4. Water colouring(3nos) Our students had good exposure to such Competition, they had thrive to secure best.Such events has helped our students in socialising and communication. 
 Our school got 2nd in Group Song and 2nd in pencil drawing.Vasudev KS( Snr Sec.) - 2nd prize for Pencil drawing. Sidharth S, Yadukrishnan, Arun Savi and George Thomas - (Vocatioal group )- 2nd prize for Group song. Consolation prize were given to all participants.

Excursion

The excursion to Thrissur Museum, Zoo, and Peechi Dam on 13 November, 2024 was an overwhelming success, providing our senior students with a memorable and enriching experience. The trip not only broadened their knowledge but also fostered teamwork, communication, and a deeper appreciation for Kerala's rich cultural and natural heritage.

The junior students' excursion to the Farm Sanctuary in Thiruvankulam on 25th November, 2024 was a resounding success, offering a unique blend of education, entertainment, and personal growth. We extend our gratitude to the sanctuary staff for their warm hospitality and informative sessions.

Keralapiravi &
Inauguration of Nammude Angadi

On Nonemer 1st 2024,The event began with the arrival of the chief guests, accompanied by the traditional *Chendamelam* music, adding a vibrant and festive atmosphere at schol premises. The program commenced with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome by the students to all the guests and attendees. Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, the Chairman, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the event, sharing his thoughts on its importance and purpose The official inauguration took place through the symbolic lighting of the lamp and ribbon cutting ceremony. - **Inaugurator**: Sri. Jayanthan Namboothiri, Managing Partner, Lotus Properties, performed the honors. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, delivering an inspirational and thought-provoking speech, focusing on the theme of the event and its relevance to the community. The event organizers honored the Chief Guest with a token of appreciation for their valuable presence and contribution to the event. Smt. Preetha Suresh, a respected teacher, concluded the formal proceedings by expressing gratitude to all the guests, participants, and organizers. The cultural segment began with performances celebrating the heritage of Kerala: A soulful performance by Yadukrishnan set the tone for the evening. The students performed a lively and colorful "Elephant Song," showcasing traditional Kerala folk elements. A musical performance by Siddharth S and his team brought the cultural celebration to its peak with an energetic and engaging presentation. The event was a grand success, blending tradition with culture through the inaugural ceremony and Keralapiravi celebrations. The performances by the students and the local artists were well-received, and the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and positive energy.

Mridula Vandanam

On 23rd October at Changampuzha Park,The Mridula Vandanam event began with a prayer by the students, creating a solemn and respectful atmosphere. Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, welcomed the audience, followed by an insightful Presidential Address from Sri. P. Prakash, President of Changampuzha Samskarika Kendram, who emphasized the importance of cultural heritage. A significant moment of the evening was the Guru Pooja dedicated to Sri. M. K. Sanu, a renowned Malayalam writer and social activist, performed by Smt. Nitya Gopalakrishnan, Director. This homage celebrated his contributions to literature and human rights. The event also included the felicitation of P J Thomas, the PTA President, recognizing his efforts in the community. Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress, concluded the program with a Vote of Thanks, appreciating the participation and support of all attendees. Overall, the event was a meaningful celebration of culture, literature, and community spirit.

International Day of Older Persons 

On October 1, 2024, our school proudly celebrated the International Day of Older Persons, and we celebrated as Grandparents Day. The event began at 10:30 AM with the warm arrival of grandparents, who were greeted by enthusiastic students eager to spend quality time with them. The day was filled with engaging activities, starting with fun games that encouraged interaction and laughter among the generations. Following the games, students led a heartfelt prayer to express gratitude for the wisdom and love of their elders. Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, our esteemed Chairman, delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing the importance of cherishing our grandparents and the invaluable role they play in our lives. This was followed by an entertaining program showcasing various talents of the students, including music and dance performances, which brought smiles to the faces of all attendees. A special feedback session allowed grandparents to share their thoughts and experiences from the day, fostering a sense of connection and appreciation. The celebration culminated with a delightful lunch, where students and grandparents enjoyed a meal together, further strengthening their bonds. The event was a resounding success, creating cherished memories and reinforcing the importance of valuing our elders. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.


Onabhangi 

On 11th September 2024, Layam Koothambalam in Tripunithura hosted a vibrant Onabhangi celebration. The event began with students welcoming the spirit of Mahabali with traditional Chendamelam, creating an energetic atmosphere that set the tone for the festivities. One of the highlights of the evening was the Tholpavakkoothu performance titled “നിഴലിൽ ഒരു ഓണവിരുന്ന്,” directed by the esteemed Sri Vipin Viswanath Pulavar, a recipient of the Kerala State Folklore Youth Artist Award. This performance beautifully encapsulated the essence of Onam, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. Additionally, the event featured a stunning Onappookkalam presentation, which was a dance composition combining various folk dances from different parts of India. This segment not only celebrated the diversity of Indian culture but also highlighted the artistry of the performers. The fashion show, titled Mridulabhangi, directed by Smt. Shymi brought a contemporary twist to the traditional celebrations, showcasing creative designs and vibrant costumes. Another noteworthy performance was Mridulageetham , directed by Smt.Shirley Somasundaran along with the guidance of theatre instructor Smt.Krishnapriya. This segment offered a blend of music and drama, further enriching the cultural tapestry of the event. Overall, the Onabhangi celebration was a successful and memorable event, uniting students, teachers, and the community in a joyous homage to Kerala’s traditions and festivals. Guruvandanam

The Mridulasparsham Special School successfully hosted 'Guruvandanam' event on 5th September 2024 at 2:00 PM in the school premises. The event featured Smt. Sushila Kuriachan, Project Coordinator at Asha Nilayam Special School, as the Chief Guest. The program included a prayer by the students, followed by a welcome speech by Master Vasudev K S and a presidential address by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan. Smt. Sushila Kuriachan lit the lamp and delivered the inaugural address. The highlight of the event was honoring the teachers, and feedback was provided by Sreedevi Ayyappan, Manju Maya, and Veena. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Kum. Shreya P Menon, Head Girl. The event was a heartfelt tribute to teachers, celebrated with enthusiasm and gratitude.


Annankunjum Thannalayathu

The Mridulasparsham Special School hosted the event 'Annankunjum thannalayathu' on 31st August 2024, from 11 AM to 4 PM at Lotus Gardens, Kottappuram, Tripunithura & Loral Grove, Kaniyampuzha Road, Vytilla. Organized by the Interact Club of Rotary Cochin International, the event aimed to raise funds to gift the teachers on Teachers' Day. The programme featured a unique "Eat as you Please, Pay as you Please" concept. The event saw good participation, with proceeds contributing towards appreciating the dedicated efforts of the teachers.


 Inauguration of "Keram Block" (Dining Hall)

The inauguration of "Keram Block" dining hall took place on 21st August 2024 at 11:30 AM in the school premises. The event began with a prayer by the students, followed by a welcome address by Smt. Rakhi A R, Headmistress. Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, delivered the presidential address. The dining hall was inaugurated, and the ceremonial lamp was lit by Sri. George Thomas, General Manager, BPCL, Kochi. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Praseetha L, Special Educator.

Inauguration of ARAYAL Block, Book release 'Ente Tripunithura' & Pinning Badge to Vocational Students

A significant event was held at the school premises on July 23rd, 2024, Tuesday. The program commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Capt. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman. The Headmistress, Smt. Rakhi A. R, introduced the program, while Smt. Sudharma K. R, Teacher, who wrote the book ‘Ente Tripunithura’ and spoke about the book being released. 

The highlight of the event was the book release ceremony, where Smt. Rema Santhosh, Chairperson of Tripunithura Municipality, presented the book to Smt. Radhika Varma, Councilor of Tripunithura Municipality. Smt. Radhika Varma then inaugurated the 'Arayal Block' and lit the lamp, marking the official opening of the new facility.The name “Arayal” was suggested by Smt. Nitya Goplakrishnan, Director, Mridulasparsham. Additionally, Sri. Roy Thiruvankulam, Councilor, Tripunithura Municipality, pinned name badges on the Hotel Management Course students. 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Laly George, Senior Teacher. The special attraction is 'Karkadaka Kanjiyum Puzhukkum', which seems to be a traditional Kerala dish served during the Karkadaka month (July-August). The event was a success, with the presence of esteemed guests and the active participation of Parents, students and teachers. 

Yoga Day 

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on June 21st, and it's wonderful that Mridulasparsham School premises hosted a yoga day celebration with instructor Santhosh T R on that day this year! Yoga is a wonderful practice that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The event was a great success, and participants enjoyed learning and practicing yoga with Santhosh T R's guidance.

SPICMACAY ART Workshop

A Five-day SPICMACAY workshop was held at Mridulasparsham Special School from June 18-22, 2024. The workshop featured three art forms: Mural Painting led by Sri K R Babu, Clay Modelling led by Sri. R Meyyar, and Tholpavakoothu led by Sri. Vipin Pulavar. The inauguration was done by Rtn.Meena Viswanathan, Educational Officer of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, and the valedictory function was graced by Prof. Kumarakerala Varma, former principal of Swathi Thirunal Sangeetha Academy, Thiruvananthapuram, and 2021 Swathi Puraskaram Winner. 

The workshop aimed to promote traditional art forms among students and provide a unique learning experience. Students explored their creativity through mural painting, clay modelling , and Tholpavakoothu (traditional Indian puppetry).The event promoted cultural awareness, inclusivity, and artistic expression among students with special needs.A fun and creative experience that fostered community and skill-building! 

World Environment Day 
5th June,2024

On June 5, 2024, Mridulasparsham Special School celebrated World Environment Day with several key events: 

Captain S. Gopalakrishnan, the Chairman, welcomed everyone, highlighting the school's dedication to environmental awareness and holistic student development. *Inauguration of World Environment Day* Ms. Chithira Kusuman, a writer and environmentalist, inaugurated the event. She spoke on the importance of sustainable practices and community involvement in environmental conservation.

Rtn. Nina Nayar, Director and Board Member at Aspinwall and Company Ltd., inaugurated a new stairlift, enhancing accessibility for students with mobility challenges.

Mr. Roy Thiruvankulam inaugurated the Vayambu Block, a modern, eco-friendly facility aimed at providing a conducive learning environment. 
 The celebrations underscored the school’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity.

PRAVESANOLSAVAM 2024- 2025

 To mark the beginning of the new academic year, Mridula Sparsham Special School organized an entrance festival. School Director Mrs. Nitya Gopalakrishnan inaugurated by lighting the Bhadradeepam. Chairman Captain S Gopalakrishnan spoke about the school.
Headmistress Mrs. Rakhi AR welcomed everyone in the program which was attended by children, parents and teachers. Irumpanam Ward Councilor Shri Roy Thiruvananthapuram extended his greetings. Teachers welcomed every students with pravesanolsava song.

 On March 11, 2024, Mridulasparsham celebrated and honored all mothers of its students, recognizing their invaluable support and contribution to their children's education and growth. Additionally, seven outstanding women were awarded Thejaswini awards for their remarkable achievements and contributions to society. The event was graced by Chief Guest M.S. Jaya, IAS, adding prestige and significance to the occasion.

Metro- Tripunithura Terminal Inauguration

 The inauguration of the Tripunithura metro terminal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  through online on March 5 must have been a significant event for the region. It's especially commendable that Mridulasparsham students were able to experience the first ride to Kaloor free of cost, providing them with an exciting and memorable opportunity to explore the newly inaugurated metro service. Such initiatives contribute to the accessibility of public transportation and the inclusion of all members of society in its benefits.

Medi expo and Auto expo

 Mridulasparsham senior students visiting events such as the medi expo and auto expo conducted by Govt. Model Engineering College Trikkakkara on March 1st. The support provided by the college in collecting the students and teachers, as well as accompanying them throughout the program, demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. It's heartening to know that the students had the opportunity to participate and showcase their talents through song, dance, and other performances at such events.

MIKAVU - Competition

It's great to hear about initiatives like the Mikavu competition, aimed at empowering differently-abled students. Conducted by Tripunithura municipality on February 21, 2024, it likely provided a platform for these students to showcase their talents and abilities. Such events contribute to inclusivity and recognition of diverse talents within the community.It sounds like the Mridulasparsham event was a huge success, with differently-abled students participating and excelling in various competitions like song, storytelling, dance, and fancy dress. Securing first, second, third, and consolation prizes demonstrates their talent, determination, and the supportive environment created by the organizers. Such achievements deserve recognition and celebration.

Chrismas & New Year Celebrations

We have celebrated Christmas and New Year by Gift exchanging, Procession with Chendamelam, Tabla Concert, A retrospective presentation of the main events by students of the year and lamp lighting.  Rev. Fr. Zecharia Varghese Oneril was the chief guest and he gave Christmas Message. This celebration was on 22/12/23, Friday.

Special Art Fest

We are happy to inform that sixteen children of different age groups of our school participated in a Special Art Fest( SAF- 2023) organized by Y's Men International Club South Chittur, in association with Chavara Special School Koonammav. The competition was held at Chavara Special school at 10am today. The competition has been conceived to showcase the talents of children of Special schools in Ernakulam district. It is truely proud to announce that Sreya Pradeep and Rubin Basheer (Senior Secondary class) of our school came in the Second and Third Positions of category Above 18 yrs. All participants received prizes for their participation.

Mridulasparsham Run

We have done a Run - ' Mridulasparsham Run' (2 km) on Dec 3rd,2023 World Disability Day. Students, Teachers & Parents participated in this event.Sri Roy Thiruvankulam  (Councilor, Tripunithura) flagged off this run. It was areally nice experience for all of us.

Excursion 

Students, Teachers & Parents went for an excursion on Novemner 24th. We visited Bhoothathankettu Dam,Forest, Vadattupara Waterfalls, Thattekkad Bird Sanctury, Inchathotti Hanging Bridge.It was a pleasent experience to be with the nature. All were really enjoyed.  

Mridulatharangam 

Mridulatharangam , Our Kalolsavam conducted on November 20, 21. Each and every students participated in all events like drawing, colouring, solo song, Chenda, solo dance, group dance with their enthusiasm. They had shown their talents on the stage.

Photography Workshop for students was conducted by Shri. S. Rajan,Former District Secretary of All Kerala Photographers Association on November 14th, 2023 at school premises.

Fun Run Marathon

Students and Teachers of Mridulasparsham participated 3 KM FunRun Marathon of Orbislives Tripunithura Half Marathon presented by Rotary Tripunithura. The race was on 12th Nov,2023 at Chittilappilly Square, Kakkanad.

Keralapiravi- Athithidevo Bhava(Athitheyam – Vocational Training)was inaugurated by Shri. Our children celebrated GandhiJayanthi and International Day for Older Persons on Oct 2, 2023 at Sree Poornathrayeesa Vridha Sadanam.Students cleaned our school premises also. 

Cheruthully

Cheruthully Program inaugurated on the 16th of Sep. For the evaluation procedure we had sent the students of the vocational age group with materials for block printing. An amount had given to them for their piece of work based on the quality and quantity. The support of parents is absolutely necessary for this effort.

Dr. Ambat Vijayakumar, Emeritus Professor, Department of Mathematics, CUSAT inaugurated the Teachers day programme on 5th Sept,2023. Mridulasparsham Director Mrs. Nitya Gopalakrishnan gave Gurudakshina to Prof. Sanu Master. School assembly was conducted by Teachers on that day. Teachers sang Guruvandanam Song. 
 

Onam Celebration

We celebrated Onam on 25th Aug at School premises.Staff and Children presented wonderful cultural programmes to entertain the whole team.Parents are participated in various competitions like Musical Chair, Vatamvali etc. We included Nammude Angadi  along with Onam Celebration with various materials like Chips, Pickles, Block printed clothes and Tie and Dye T Shirts. Celebration was concluded with our Onam Feast.

This workshop conducted on Aug 5, 2023 at school premises. Sri. V. Ganesh,(Rtd. Principal Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura, Former Educational Officer, Amritha Schools,Tamil Nadu) was our chief guest.

 Tea is an integral part of Indian culture and society. We got to embark on an exciting tea tasting session along with our children and learn about the history of tea, different types of tea ,how to make innovative tea recipes and how it can help in your overall immunity during the Monsoon. High Tea is organized by Arsha Veda Wellness Pvt. Ltd. Courtesy Smt. Parvathy.

Athitheyam 
Hospitality is ingrained in Indians, as for us Athithi is equal to God. Our children  prepared sandwiches and other munchies to display their Culinary Skills. Please taste all the goodies they make along with the tea and share your views with us.   

Training in Block Printing 
 We  also conducted a Demonstrating cum Training for our parents in Block Printing, so that you can help them at home to create their own pieces of Art and develop it into a profession.


Karkkadakamasam & Ramayanamasam Acharanam
 
Karkkadaka masam and Ramayana month Acharanam celebrated on 19 July, 2023.
 Smt. Usha. K. Educational Officer, BVB inaugurated the function.Students presented a Tableau based on Sreerama Pattabhishekam.  

Vandeguruparamparam & Nammude Angadi
Guruvandanam and Nammude Angadi program celebrated on 30th June, 2023. It was a great function by paying obeisance to 7 former Senior Principals of various schools by our students. They offered Vettila Pakku and blouse piece block printed by our students. Nammuda Angadi saw vigorous sales selling Block Printed Kurt's blose pieces pillow covers mobile bags and hand kerchieves. Also sales of fast food Kappa and Payasam attracted good crowd.  Cultural programs put up by students on environment was a great success. 
 

World Yoga Day & Music Day
Yoga Day and Music Day were celebrated on June 21st. It was a very grand occasion as usual. During the morning assembly, the children sang songs and listened to songs by famous singers. Our music teacher held a demonstration and the importance of music in life, like how music is also a therapy and how music therapy is used in various hospitals and institutions. Mr Varghese, yoga teacher from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was the Guest and spoke to the children. It was a highly motivating and inspiring speech. he gave the children a lot of information about how yoga is just not an exercise how it aligned mind, body and soul and why it is important for everybody to practice yoga, the changes it will bring about the chemical changes it will bring about in the body which will in turn help us become balanced human beings.
 

World Environment Day

World Environment Day started of with an array of celebrations in the morning our children were invited to play The Chanda and plant saplings jointly organized by Sakshama and Perrunikulam Shiva temple. Later in the day, Dignitaries from BPCL, CGM, Mr Rajasekhar K, GM, Mr Ramachandran M K, Mr Sasi PK, GM (Environment) inaugurated the celebration and addressed the gathering during the occasion and planted saplingssaplings in the school. One of our students Ms Sreya Pradeep, performed an "Ottamthullal" on Environment. The need to keep the environment clean and problems with the the present system of Garbage Disposal was reinforced among children and adults. 

Pravesanolsavam 2023-'24

June 1st "Pravesanolsavam" for the year 2023 24 began with the usual fanfare of welcoming the children in the morning. The Chairman, Capt Gopalakrishnan,Director, Mrs Nitya Gopalakrishnan,Headmistress,Mrs Rakhi Kalesh, faculty, students and staff welcomed the new year with Stalwarts in the field of education.  

Summer Camp 2023
The summer camp, 2022- 23 started off with great fanfare. We had almost 40 students including our own students, so it was "inclusive" in the real sense of the word. It was organised very meticulously. As the name suggests, it was play and work for the children. They learnt a variety of skills like Abacus, block printing, making greeting cards, fruit salad and vegetable salad making, plating,Photography. There were competitions to ip thei r spirits. Prizes were given. The children enjoyed the Treasure Hunt. They were taken on an outdoor trip to " Farm Sanctuary " They were divided into 3 houses so that they could hone their Leaders ship qualities. They also brought out a manuscript magazine. every other day there was a competition including sports competition drawing competition photography competition along with that they had a lot of fun games The Grand Finale was on 19th May, '22, at Karingachira Church Auditorium, attended by all the parents and grandparents. The children presented an entertainment program. The chief guest Rtn. Narayanan and his wife gave away the gifts and certificates. The parents and children promised to attend the camp the following year too

Our Annual day, celebrated on 5th April, in the school, saw all the students participating with enthusiasm. The Chief Guest K. Babu lit the lamp with Smt Sreekumari Ramachandran. 5 women from different walks of life were honoured. Teachers and Staff were honoured for their relentless services, with lamps. The variety entertainment garnered applause & appreciation from all.

Nammude Angadi

February 16, 2023, was another memorable day for us at Mridulasparsham. A novel venture called "Nammude Angadi '' was inaugurated by the proprietor & owner of Azzezia Convention Centre, Padivattom, and the first purchase made by our very own Councillor Roy Thiruvankulam. The preparations for Angadi started weeks ago. Our children proudly displayed the fruits of their hard work and talents. All the handicrafts made by our children like keychains, painted bottles, pillow covers, jute bags, eatables and mandala art paintings etc made the stall a colourful one. The organic vegetables brought in by Mr Abdul Aziz completed the idea of Angadi. The children volunteered to help with the sales and it was a great success. Meanwhile, the icing on the cake was that our children attempting their A,B,C levels of the OBE exam were given hall tickets in the presence of the parents and guests. With everybody's blessings and good wishes they received the hall tickets in all humility. The prizes for the Photography Competition, "Ente Chaya Chitram" held the previous week, were given by Mr Venkatachalam, Illustrator & Designer. The competition was conducted in 2 categories, putting together an Album and Single Photo. Album: 1st Anamika ; 2nd : Sreya Pradeep Single Photo: 1st Nihil ; 2nd Madhav Joshua & Allen were recognized for their Record breaking performance in the quiz competition " Quizabled" conducted by Seva in Action , sponsored by L&T

A team from our school participated in the "Quizabled", organized by an NGO, Seva-in-Action, Bengaluru (SIA) and powered by LTIMindtree on Feb 2,2023. Our team(Joshua & Alan) secured the first position among 50 schools, breaking the earlier record of 60 points, by notching up 95 points. They won a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-.

Excursion, Dec 22,2022
The highlight of the year was an excursion for the staff and students. Elaborate plans were made to take the children to Thumboormoozhi, Vazhachaal and Athirapally. The excitement was palpable in the air as we started off on 22nd morning. One luxury bus and a Tempo traveler were hired and we sang and danced our way. The first stop was at Chalakudy for a breakfast of soft, spongy idlis, and piping hot tea. At Thumboormoozhi we walked the hanging bridge, saw butterflies, took pics. The next destination was Vazhachaal. After a simple lunch we went to see flowing and gurgling water of Vazhachaal. We spent quality time at Athirapally watching animals and birds, munching on snacks etc. On the return journey, we stopped at Chalakudy for dinner. After another session of photo clicks, we returned with loads of wonderful memories

Christmas Celebration, Dec 21,2022
Christmas celebration as usual begin with the kids getting dress up, singing of carols, distribution of cakes and X Mas gift exchanging. Sri. George Pullatt was the guest of the occassion.

Book Fair, Dec 10-19,2022
We got an opportunity to put up a stall in the international book fair held in Ernakulathappan ground. Our children also were able to play the percussion instrument "Chenda" during the inaugural ceremony. All the staff and students took part in the program with great fervor and enthusiasm. Children were taken in turns, everyday, to see the books displayed in the stalls and buy books of their choice. It was with great zeal that teachers and staff members explained to the visitors about all our activities and abilities of our children. Block printed Sarees, pillow covers, handkerchiefs, bottle art etc were displayed. Posters and articles used for occupational therapy were arranged and benefits explained in detail.

World Disabled Day, Dec 3,2022
3rd December, is observed as International Day of Disabled Persons. We conducted a rally "SAMATHWAYANAM" and the rally was flagged off by Sri Roy Thiruvankulam, Councilor, Tripunithura Municipality. On that day we  also conducted the Annual Sports Meet. We conucted a march past. The Chief Guest,Adv. Ramanathan, High Court of Kerala  hoisted the Flag.

Mridulatharangam

Children's Day
Mridula Tharangam the annual arts and cultural fest was conducted in our school on 12th November. It was roaring success. All the children participated. It was inaugurated by Mrs Shailaja Krishna Das a dance teacher par excellence, who has worked for more than three decades with the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The prizes were distributed on Children's Day November 14th by the Chief guests of the day, SI Reshma and Ms. Meenakshi Varma.  

Kerala Piravi
November 1st saw the children of Mridulasparsham celebrating Kerala Piravi day and Anti narcotics day. As part of the celebrations, the children took out a rally, holding placards carrying the message of "Say No to Drugs. The rally was flagged off by Rotarian Mathew. After which, they congregated for a meeting in which they were told about the hazards of using drugs, the need to maintain physical and mental health, self control and how not to fall prey to drugs, and drug peddlars. Kerala Piravi day celebration was inaugurated by Mr N.R. Parameswaran. He spoke about the culture and traditions of Kerala and why it was important for us to remember them and follow them. The children took an oath promising themselves to not take to drugs.Our Malayalam teacher Smt. Sudharma told them about the formation of the state of Kerala. Yadukrishnan Jiju and Siddharth S of vocational level sang kerala songs . The program went off very well and ended with a tableau by the from the care group. Quiz was conducted class wise in the afternoon.   

A Visit of Naval Officers
We're happy to inform that on Friday, 28th October, 2022, Commodore Deepak Kumar Commanding Offcer, INS Venduruthy and his team visited our school. They gifted the school with Furniture ( 13 pairs of desks and benches) 2 Air coolers, 1 Mobile toilet, 1 water cooler and provisions. Besides that, the goodies like, chocolates, a variety of biscuits, cakes which were immediately distributed among the students. The Bournvita, Complan along with biscuits etc is given to them during tea time. We are very thankful to the magnanimous gesture of the Navy.  

Onam and Teachers day Celebration
Onam was celebrated with much fanfare on Saturday 17th September .We club together Onam celebration and teachers day. Mrs. N.Vijayalakshmi, Rtd. Principal, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was the guest of honour. Mr. Rajmohan Varma and parents were also present. After Gurudakshina by our Principal Mrs Nitya Gopalakrishnan offered to Vijayam teacher with deference, all the students paid their respects to the teachers. Gifts were distributed to all by parents and rotary. Onam celebration started with dance competition housewise and was followed by thiruvathira and vanchi paatu. A sumptuous lunch followed. 

Athaghosham- Parayipetta Panthirukulam-Desabhakthigaanam
As part of Athaghosham, our students were given an opportunity to perform the Dance Drama, "Parayi petta Panthirukulam" at Koothambalam Thripunithura on Thursday, 1st September, 2022 at 7.00 pm. We were allotted one hour's time. Despite the lashing rains and potholed roads, our children and teachers, braving all the difficulties came to school everyday for rigorous practice sessions. We started with a 'Desha Bhakti Gaana' followed by our Principal, Madam Nitya Gopalakrishnan offering 'Guru Dakshina' to her teacher, Prof. Sanoo Master. After Prof .Sanu Master's message, ' Parayi Petta Pandirkulam' was staged by our children. Their performance was par excellence and they were given a Standing ovation by the audience. 

Sakshama State Level- Competition
In the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav State Level competitions conducted on 14th August,2022 at Bhaskareeyam, Elamakkara. Our children bagged the 3rd prize for Patriotic Group song. Niranjan got 2nd prize for Crayon colouring

Independence Day Celebration
In keeping with the spirit of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav we hoisted the flag on 13th August with great fan fair Dr. Jayaprakash attended the function and addressed the children. They saluted the national flag and the national anthem was sung, sweets were distributed. 

As part of Interact Club activities, Rotarians and Interact Club members handed over 20 Set Mundus to be given to Asha and Anganvadi workers.

  On 15th August, Capt Gopalakrishnan (Chairman), Nitya Gopalakrishnan ( Sr Principal) accompanied by our Ward member Mr Roy went to Kaipancherry and gifted the Set Mundus to theAsha and Anganvadi workers

Sakshama- Competition
July 22nd, our children participated in the competitions conducted by Sakshama at Chengampuzha Park Edapally. They put up a wonderful show and secured prizes for all the items they participated in. The children also put up stalls for Mehendi and Block printing. A team of students took photos of the events, immediately took prints and gave them to the guests. They were quite surprised and happy. We wish to congratulate the parents for their support and students for their performance. The behaviour of the children throughout the day is worth mentioning. Overall, it was a wonderful day spent fruitfully. We are sure this will remain a benchmark for future events. 

Karkadaka Maasacharanam
July 18th , the second day of the month of Karkidakam, was celebrated in a grand manner. In Kerala it's also known as Ramayana Maasam as the Epic Ramayana is read in all households. The function started with the Ramayana Parayanam by our Malayalam teacher, Mrs Sudharma. The was a melodious rendering of songs by Mr Roy Thiruvankulam and party. They entertained the guests, parents and students with popular songs. Mrs Nirmala Venketeshwaran, Former Principal, Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, was the Chief Guest. Capt Gopalakrishnan,Chairman of Mridulasparsham welcomed the gathering.The significance of the day was explained by Sr Principal Nitya Gopalakrishnan. The ceremonial lamp was lit by the guests and the Chief Guest addressed the invitees. Mrs Maya devi, teacher, described the age old rituals followed in the month of Karkidakam to maintain physical and mental health and the scientific reasons behind them. The students enacted a role play which everyone enjoyed. Meanwhile, our Vocation group students applied Mehendi for the parents, took photographs and sold block printed set mundus designed by them. The function came to an end with a sumptuous Sadhya. 

"Birthday Assembly"
Thursday, 30th June we had a special assembly. The last day' of every month is celebrated as Birthday Assembly. Capt Gopalakrishnan our Chairman and Sr. Principal, Mrs Nitya Gopalakrishnan, were present. They appreciated the students who went to Rotary International to apply Mehendi designs and clicked photos. 2 teachers and 2 students who had their birthdays in the month of June cut a cake together. Everyone wished them aa they cut cakes during assembly to the chorus singing of "Happy birthday". The teachers were overwhelmed and the students were very happy. Nitya ma'am also acknowledged the students' participation and support of the teachers in all the monthly activities.

5 students and 3 teachers were invited to Rotary International meeting where they showcased their talents in applying Mehandi  and Photography.

International Yoga Day
June 21st, 2022, was marked by 4 programmes, simultaneously, at Mridulasparsham. Along with International Yoga day, the felicitation of our students who successfully cleared their NIOS X and XII examinations. In connection with International Yoga Day, Dr Poornathraee Jayprakash Sharma, Principal, Devasthanam Kalapeetam, Trichur gave a Demonstration and message on the significance of Yoga, breathing techniques, in our daily lives. Mr Roy Thiruvankulam, Ward member,welcomed the guests. The Presidential address was delivered by Chairman, Capt. Gopalakrishnan. He explained the various activities to promote employability skills among the students and launched the starting of PSC coaching. Mrs. Rema Santosh, Chairperson, Tripunithura Nagarasabha, inaugurated the day's programs by lighting the lamp. Her message was crisp and clear about the multi tasking ability and empathy of teachers. She congratulated the students and handed over the gifts to each one of them. They were given Personalized Mugs with their names, batch, photos and the school logo. Our students performed Yoga under the supervision of our Yoga Instructor, Mr Santosh. Mr Mebin, Proprietor of AIN Supermarket, spoke on the occasion and underlined the need for Industriousness which was proportionate to success and financial independence. The program came to an end with the distribution of refreshments.

Short Movie Making Technics
Interact Club of Rotary Cochin International Club ID 224219 organised classes on Short Movie Making Technics for Teachers and Students of Mridulasparsham on June 7th,2022 at 11 am in school premises. Sri. Rajmohan varma, Coordinator, Bhavan's Kalabharati, Kochi was the Programme Director.

World Environment Day
World Environment Day was celebrated by the students and staff of Mridulasparsham Special School on 5th June, 2022. Mr Babu K Itteerah, retired principal of Irumpanam Vocational Higher Secondary School honoured us with his presence. He is a recipient of the National Award for Best Principal, 2005. Moreover, his repertoire boasts of several Gold medals and Recognitions. After the Formal meeting, Saplings were plantes by the Chief Guest, Mr Babu Itteerah, Mr Roy Thiruvankulam, Ward member, our Chairman Capt Gopalakrishnan, Mrs Nitya Gopal, Sreekala R, and Mrs Laly George. The children and teachers enacted a play on Environmental Protection. The guest appreciated the functioning of the school and the performance of the students. The saplings are taken care of by the students.

Pravesanolsavam
We celebrated Pravesanolsavam on 1st June 2022 in our school campus. Mrs. Hema C Bhagi(Retd. Ambassador) inaugurated the Function.  Presidential Address by Mr. Roy Thiruvankulam (Ward Councilor). CA Venugopal C Govind, Chairman, BVB, Kochi Kendra and Mr. Peethanbaran, Education Standing committee Chairman, Tripunithura Municipality were the chief guests. We distributed Knowledge bag to every student. The function was followed by various entertainment programmes by students and teachers.

Rotary Interact Club
   
Rotary Interact Club started on 14th May 2022 at our school campus. The meeting called to order by Rtn. S R Vipin. Rtn. Varghese K Joy was present in the programme. Ms. Anamika M was elected the president and Master. Joshua V Jojo,Nandana S, Shreya P Menon,Sreya Pradeep, and Vasudev K S were elected as Secretary, Vice President, Sergeant of Arms, Joint Secretary and Treasurer respectively.  

Computers gifted by The Naval Southern Command
   
We had a special guest from The Naval Southern Command, wife of Commander- in Chief, Vice Admiral Mrs. Humpyholi on May 6th,2022. She visited the school handed over and 3 Computers gifted by The Naval Southern Command.  

VISHU
Vishu was celebrted with great enthusiasm. Ms. Aruna Sunderrajan, IAS was the guest on the auspicious occasion. She gifted the school with a Special Edition copy of The Bhagawat Gita. Capt. Gopalakrishnan gave all the staff members Vishu Kaineetam followed by a Sadya. The children those who completed the 3 months Vocational Courses on Photography, Animation, Cooking,Beautician Course, we're given certificates. Class teachers gave all the students Vishu Kaineetam.

Investiture Ceremony
Investiture ceremony held to select the Head boy, Head girl, Sports & Arts Captains and 3 House Captains om March 3rd,2022. The students carried out each event without any mistake. Our Chief Guest Commodore Deepak Kumar  Commanding Officer, INS Venduruthy, said that it was the best performance he has seen in years and it was a mesmerizing moment. 

SWASTH 2022- Closing Ceremony
Closing Ceremony of Five days Art and Craft Workshop for Special Children in Ernakulam Dist. and inaugurated by Sri. K Babu MLA on 08.01.2022 . The blueprint of proposed Sensory Park was also inaugurated on the same day.

We celebrated Chrismas on Wednesday, 22nd December 2021 at school and after that school closed for Chrismas holidays.All children participated in a skit.

World Disability Day celebrated on 03 Dec 2021 at our school.Asst. Governor Rotary District 3201 inaugurated the function.A rally flagged off by our Ward Councilor Sri Roy Thiruvankulam.


Pravesanolsavam and Physiotherapy Room Inauguration
Pravesanolsavam and Inauguration of Physiotherapy room took place on Sunday, 14th November, 2021, in the esteemed presence of the Hon. MLA .Sri .Anoop Jacob, Smt. Rema Santhosh, Chairperson, Tripunithura Municpality and Sri. Roy Thiruvankulam, Ward Member.


Wall Inauguration
We conducted an Inaugural Ceremony of wall after painting on Saturday 13th November, 2021 at 11:00 am. Mr. Rajmohan Varma,  was the chief guest of this occasion.


New Kitchen Inauguration
We conducted an Inaugural Ceremony by Boiling Milk in the new kitchen on Friday12th November, 2021 at 11:00 am. Mrs. Radhika Varma, Councillor, Tripunithura was the chief guest of this occasion.


Two Vocational Courses: Beauty Culture and Animation & Graphics 
 were inaugurated by Jyothika George(Vocational level student) on October 1st, 2021.


Home Based Therapy 
 was inaugurated by Sri Roy Thiruvankulam (Ward Councilor) on September 9, 2021.Every week six children will be given various therapies at their homes. A special educator and a therapist with required training equipment will carry out therapies. 


A Youth Festival MRIDULATHARANGAM, based on Independence day and Onam, conducted on 16,17and 18 August 2021. Children participated in speech, music, dance, fancy dress and coloring the Onappookkalam. Quiz was compulsory for all students. All children have done their part very well.

Cooking
All senior students had performed Cooking at their home during last week of June  2021. They made Thoran, Erisseri, Sandwich etc.

International Yoga Day
All students had performed Yoga very well on International Yoga Day, June 21st, 2021 under expert guidance of our Yoga Teacher, Sri Santhosh T R. By doing Yoga lead a healthy and happy life.

National Reading Day
All children participated in reading day celebration on June 19th, 2021. Some of them participated as famous poets, writers and characters. 

World Environment Day
Our children planted saplings at their homes, made posters, sang songs and poem recitation  as the part of World Environment Day on June 5th, 2021. 

PRAVESANOLSAVAM 2021-2022
Our children celebrated Pravesanolsavam on June 1st, 2021 at their homes.

To create more interest among our students who are not able to attend the school, we have organized home based training program for all children. Two teachers will visit and give Occupational Therapy programme and academics to all students.

International Women's Day was celebrated in the school on 8th March. The meeting was presided by Smt. Radhika Varma( Councilor, Tripunithura Municipality). She was former vice principal of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura During the meeting each teacher and staff was presented the gift as a token of our appreciation

As part of SAKSHAMA effort to reach outto students affected during Covid pandemic our chaiman distributing gift consisting of masks, sanitizers, tea powder, sugar etc. in the month of October 20

Visit by Internationally reputed Tholpavakkoothu artist Padmasree Ramachandran Pulavar to our school.

Started BA Sociology classes under IGNOU from Feb 1, 2021

XMAS gift consisting of cake, mask, sanitizer,  blanket and greeting card with all student's painting were given to each studentT his/her house by teachers and staffs.

World Disabled Day was celebrated on 03 Dec. A meeting was held to celebrate this day presided by Smt.Aruna Sundarrajan, former IT secretary, Govt.of Kerala and Sri. Elias George,former Managing Director, KMRL. Painting competition prizes were handed over by the chief guests to the awardees. Greeting Card is released by Mrs. Shenoy

Painting competition as online basis to celebrate World Disabled Day(Dec 3rd). All paintings were of very good quality and a greeting card was printed with all the paintings. Best paintings were judged by a jury and first, second, third prizes were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 2000/-,1500/-,1000/- respectively and Rs.200/- to every participants.

We got Certificate of Registration from General Education Department, Govt. of Kerala in Oct 2020

Online classes including Occupational Therapy and academics commenced from 8th April 20 onwards due to school closed due Covid Lock Down.

To keep the children away from computer and mobile during forthcoming school vacation, Mridulasparsham is considering one month skill development camp "കളിയും കാര്യവും" starting on 16 April 2019. We are proud and happy to inform you that this is the 6th consecutive year of our camp.
